Gretchen Whitmer – MI

In 2013, Whitmer gained national attention for a floor speech during a debate on abortion in which she shared her experience of being sexually assaulted. For six months in 2016, she was the prosecutor for Ingham County.

While in college she became an intern for state representative Curtis Hertel, which convinced her to study law. She received her Juris Doctor from Michigan State’s College of Law and began practicing law at the Dickinson Wright law firm’s Lansing offices

The 2022 Michigan gubernatorial election will take place on November 8, 2022, to elect the governor of Michigan. Incumbent Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer is running for re-election to a second term. The deadline for candidates to file for the August 2 primary was April 19.

Tudor Dixon (née Makary is an American politician, formerly a conservative commentator and actress. She is the Republican party’s nominee for Michigan governor in the 2022 election, where she will challenge incumbent Democratic governor Gretchen Whitmer.

2022 MI Attorney General Race

The 2022 Michigan Attorney General election will be held on November 8, 2022, to elect the Attorney General of the state of Michigan. Incumbent Democratic Attorney General Dana Nessel is running for re-election to a second term. She was first elected in 2018 with 49.0% of the vote.

Michigan does not hold partisan primaries for statewide offices other than governor. Instead, the state parties will hold conventions in August to nominate candidates for the general election. Party nomination conventions were held on April 9 for the Michigan Democratic Party and April 23 for the Michigan Republican Party.
